2013 34th Australian Nacra Nationals, final results

From the following Sail-World article by Wes Bailey

http://www.sail-world.com/Australia/Nacra-Australian-Championship-2013---Close-to-the-finish/105374

The last day of competition at the Australian Nacra Championship 2013 was fantastic with the sun shining and 20 knots of breeze. Sailors completed three races to jack up the total to twelve with the standings ended up tight in nearly all divisions.

Heading into the final day of racing in the F18 Infusion class, five boats had a chance of winning. Despite the setback of a disqualification the day before, Adam Beattie proved too fast and consistent scoring a first a second and a third on the last day to win the title. The two drops allowed him to drop a DNF and a DSQ. Second overall was Mick Guinea with Dale Mitchell in third.

34th Australian Nacra Catamaran Nationals, Day 4

The following article from Sail-World submitted by Wes Bailey

http://www.sail-world.com/Australia/Nacra-Nationals-2013---Breeze-and-drama-back-on-for-Day-4/105294

The Nacra National Championship 2013 returned to its gusty nature on the fourth day of sailing with only two races completed in the afternoon as carnage and capsizes continued to mar the competition off the Hervey Bay Sailing Club.

Day four of sailing at the Nacra nationals saw the return of the strong wind conditions from earlier in the week. A single session of sailing was held in the afternoon, with two races completed. Gusts on the course got stronger and longer as the session wore on and the carnage and capsizes continued. Nine races have been sailed now and once ten races are sailed a second drop comes into play.

34th Nacra Australia Championships, great sailing conditions on day 3

From the following Sail-World article submitted by Nacra Australia:

http://www.sail-world.com/Australia/34th-Nacra-Australian-Championships---Postcard-sailing-on-day-3/105248

The third day of sailing at the Nacra Nationals was a stark contrast to the conditions earlier in the week with light and puffy conditions. With one session of racing held for the day three races were held back to back. The change in conditions and the fact that a drop has now come into the scoring equation, has meant that results have tightened in almost all fleets.

Now leading the Nacra F18 Infusion class is Adam Beattie on 14 points with both Mick Guinea and Mal Richardson on 15 points. Warren Guinea is also close behind in forth on 17 points.

34th Nacra Nationals, Day 1 - Blown Out

From the following Sail-World articles posted by Nacra Australia:

On day 1 sustained gusts of 25 to 30 knots convinced the race committee to defer the days racing:

34th Nacra Nationals, Day 2

http://www.sail-world.com/Australia/34th-Nacra-Nationals,-Day-2---Strong-winds-set-total-carnage/105205

After the blown out conditions on day 1, competitors were put to race in conditions at the upper limit of the 22knot class wind limit. With the south-easterly wind coming off the shore, gusts were furious causing carnage throughout all divisions. Numerous capsizes ensured capsize club drinks were flowing well into the evening. There were also shredded sails, collisions and one 5.8 lost its rig after losing the forestay tang from the starboard bow.
