The 2015 Brisbane to Gladstone Multihull Yacht Race is set to depart on Friday 3rd of April at 11:20am. This year sees a diverse fleet of multihulls entered including the Seacart 30 trimaran Morticia and the revitalized Crowther racing pod catamaran "Top Gun/Indian Chief".

Pittwater to Coffs Race, entry deadline extended until 5pm Friday 13th December without extra fee

The Club Marine Pittwater & Coffs Harbour Regatta 2014 entry date has been extended by the organisers, The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club. Competitors will now have until 5pm next Friday 13 December to get their entry in without incurring a late fee.
This will give anyone contemplating entering the Club Marine Pittwater to Coffs race and/or the associated five race regatta one last opportunity to get their entry in and enjoy the first race of the new year and the 'warm water' regatta.
With 39 boats entered to date, a competitive fleet of 33 monohulls and six multihulls has assembled for the tactical race north, representing 12 different yacht clubs on the eastern seaboard. There are no fewer than 15 boats doing the regatta for the first time.

Lincoln week this year is going to incorporate the National Multihull Championships. This is a great regatta sailed from a very accommodating location. Plenty of room to berth multihulls large and small and the racing is competitive and friendly.

2013 Lock Crowther Memorial Regatta, biggest yet with addition of the Multihull Rendezvous
The 2013 APC Logistics Lock Crowther Multihull Regatta (LCMR) is set to be the biggest yet with this year’s event adding a fun-filled Multihull Rendezvous to complement its traditional racing program.
Set over the October long weekend, 4-6 October, 2013 the LCMR sees the Royal Motor Yacht Club Broken Bay join forces with Multihull Solutions to create an event that caters for both competitive and cruising multihull enthusiasts.
As well as the traditional LCMR racing program that includes a series of offshore and inshore races, the Multihull Rendezvous invites cruising multihulls to enjoy an unforgettable social rally in the beautiful waterways of Broken Bay.
Multihull Solutions, Australia and New Zealand’s leading multihull brokerage, has run the popular Whitsunday Multihull Rendezvous for several years, and the LCMR Regatta now enables southerners to experience this successful cruising concept.
The Multihull Rendezvous is open to multihulls of all makes and sizes, including Fountaine Pajot, Seawind, Grainger, Schionning and Oram catamarans, and the event comprises a relaxed itinerary of casual sailing, themed parties, and social events that embrace a spirit of fun.
Meanwhile competition is expected to be fierce in the LCMR’s racing division with a large number of entries expected from all around Australia including Shaun Carroll’s new Seacart 30 trimaran Morticia, Foxy and Two Tribes from Lake Macquarie, and Indian Chief, Voodoo Spirit, Quickstep and Lukim Yu from RMYC’s fleet. Corsair and Farrier trimarans will also be setting a hot pace against their catamaran rivals in the Blue Water Classic ocean race on Friday as well as four exhilarating inshore races on Saturday and Sunday.
Both racing and cruising entrants will enjoy a social programme that includes a welcome BBQ on Friday and a fun, themed party on Saturday evening. The weekend will close with a Presentation Dinner on Sunday where winners of both divisions will receive prizes provided by the event sponsors.

Airlie Beach Race Week 2013, Final results for multihulls in Divisions 1,2,3 and PHS

In the 2013 Australian National Multihull Championship the top place getters in each division were in OMR Division 1, Chris Williams’s Morticia with a clean sweep of six races.
OMR Division 2 was won by Andrew Stransky and his family on Fantasia who finished on six points.
In OMR Division 3, it was a very close contest with Tony Richardson’s Pocahontas coming out in front with 10 points, just on ahead of Mike Willcocks’s Hot Option.
The PHS Multihull Division won by Clare and Wayne Kirby’s Clear Horizons.
Multihull national measurer, Mike Hodges, reported the OMR Division 1 winner, the Sea Cart 30 Morticia, blitzed every race. “I know during the week that some of the guys have been on the internet looking to see if they can buy one.
“The boat did the Brisbane to Gladstone race this year and everybody was expecting big things of it, but it didn’t perform. But at the same time the guys hadn’t had it very long and they didn’t have any experience of it. That’s six months ago. Since then they have sailed it regularly, tuned it up and optimised it to the OMR rule and now they have a boat that is an absolute master blaster.
“Everybody seems perfectly happy with the location for the nationals. It’s a great place to have a national championships. I would be surprised if the Australian multihull championships don’t come back to Airlie Beach within the next two to three years,” Hodges said.

Airlie Beach Race Week (2013) update, Chris Williams Seacart 30 Morticia unbeatable on points in OMR division 1

Multihulls
In OMR Division 1, Morticia’s Chris Williams called the race “painful”, but who is he to complain when his team had just won their fifth straight race. They sailed the Sea Cart 30 beautifully through the glass-outs and the soft offshore northerly, sailing through the monohulls and well ahead of Mal Richardson’s Malice and George Owen’s APC Mad Max.
Overall this places Morticia in an unbeatable top position with five points. The battle tomorrow will then be between Jason Gard’s Spirit and Robert Remilton’s Wilparnia II, as long as both sail well the Pioneer Bay course.
In OMR Division 2, handicap honours went again to Philip Day’s Rhythmic. The division is still being led by Andrew Stransky’s Fantasia on eight points, then Rhythmic on 10 points with Rupert King’s Overdrive on 18 points.
OMR Division 3 was won today by Gary Scott’s Coco Loco. The overall lead is with Mike Willcocks’s Hot Option on 11 points, followed by Tony Richardson’s Pocahontas on 15 points and Geoff Floyd’s Fifty Fifty on 16 points.
All these three divisions will be able to discard their worst result after tomorrow’s race.
In the PHS Multihull Division, the overall lead is still held by Clare and Wayne Kirby’s Clear Horizons.

They sailed the Sea Cart 30 beautifully through the glass-outs and the soft offshore northerly, sailing through the monohulls and well ahead of Mal Richardson’s Malice and George Owen’s APC Mad Max.
Overall this places Morticia in an unbeatable top position with five points. The battle tomorrow will then be between Jason Gard’s Spirit and Robert Remilton’s Wilparnia II, as long as both sail well the Pioneer Bay course.
In OMR Division 2, handicap honours went again to Philip Day’s Rhythmic. The division is still being led by Andrew Stransky’s Fantasia on eight points, then Rhythmic on 10 points with Rupert King’s Overdrive on 18 points.
OMR Division 3 was won today by Gary Scott’s Coco Loco. The overall lead is with Mike Willcocks’s Hot Option on 11 points, followed by Tony Richardson’s Pocahontas on 15 points and Geoff Floyd’s Fifty Fifty on 16 points.
All these three divisions will be able to discard their worst result after tomorrow’s race.
In the PHS Multihull Division, the overall lead is still held by Clare and Wayne Kirby’s Clear Horizons.
