Spindrift Racing give the former Banque Populaire V maxi trimaran a new colour scheme and rename to Spindrift 2
Spindrift Racing have stripped the old colour scheme off the recently purchased Banque Populaire V in preparation for a full facelift and refit of the boats equipment. The former BPV will be renamed Spindrift 2 and take on a new crewed ocean records program.
Here is the rough bing translate of the Spindrift Racing update
Here it is, the Maxi Spindrift 2 left her blue dress. It will go into its hangar this afternoon for out... as in July! The team will now proceed to the complete check-up of the machine and in secret at his total makeover! A few more weeks to wait to discover the new design of the boat.

A huge credit to the UK sailing scene is the integration of ocean racing multihulls into large offshore races. This video shows the all conquering record machine Banque Populaire V in the 2011 Fastnet race in which they set a new course and outright record of 1day 8hrs 48minutes.

Banque Populaire V, 14minute film on the Jules Verne Trophy
This fantastic film follows the maxi trimaran Banque Populaire V and crew on their record breaking non stop race around the world in their succesful pursuit of the Jules Verne Trophy. There are some other videos available that cover the event in a more compressed format. Personally I dont think I could ever get tired of watching video of this amazing boat powering through the ocean and this film integrates some excellent footage.
The tracker which followed their progress in the record attempt is still available at their website. You can replay thier progress by moving the slider to the left and pressing play. The green trimaran shown is the previous record holder Groupama3 which was skippered by Franck Cammas.
