With 15 boats expected on the start line, the two day
regatta will attract racing enthusiasts from a broad base of clubs across two
states and a mix of experienced State and National sailors plus newcomers to the
sport of ocean racing. There will be some fierce competition on and off the
water with National Taipan winner Luke Donavon and State Cobra champion Laurie
Bradford contending for the State trophy.
To provide excellent
competition there are four categories of boat divisions including Catamarans,
Off-the-beach Monos and Trailables, Keelboats and Juniors.
The appeal of
Rivoli Bay is its location and its semi-protected waters. The races will be not
too long yet still challenging and loads of fun. The SA vs. Vic Catamaran
Challenge is where both states contest for individual prizes as well as for the
state trophy.
